During these past few years, the development of technology has affected and changed the lives of many people. Technology and its application could be found anywhere nowadays and it has slowly become one of the most important parts of many people’s lives. Technology has also helped to increase the productivity of many industries around the world. Because more and more people were getting exposed to the benefits of technology in the manufacturing business, many more companies are starting to consider applying smart technology in their daily businesses.
To survive in the future, constant learning and adjustment keeping with the technology trend is needed to catch up with the market demands. However, there are still many people in the manufacturing industry that have never been acquainted with the benefits of smart technology. And to solve this problem, the government and many organizations had been making various attempts to increase the productivity of the (small and medium-sized) companies to survive the competitive market through automation.

The idea of the Smart Industry Clock was to design a learning tool that could fit the working/office environment while also making it visible to the target group to access it in everyday life. This product has a feature of popping out the learning cards inside and was aiming to be a shortcut for people to learn about the surface of smart industry and related technology.

The cards were designed as multi-functional and could be used as a personal guide for the user to learn about the smart industry and its elements, and could also be used as a conversational starter and innovation tool for the usage of more than one person. There are two types of cards, which are the Reflection Card and the Learning Card. For the Reflection Cards, the user is encouraged to reflect on their career and the impact technology could offer in their life and business. While in the Learning Cards, the user will be introduced to the smart industry elements and their benefits, along with the additional facts and quiz about the smart industry elements.
By continuously exposing the target group to the smart industry elements, they would become familiar with the idea of the smart industry and it could increase the target group’s awareness about it. So when the user’s finished learning the whole deck of cards, they are at least already aware of the basic knowledge and benefits of the smart industry elements and could be considering it as solutions to the issues they’re facing in the business
